Charlie and Sue both attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana in the late 1960’s, graduating as biology majors. Sue took one weaving course and Charlie took one pottery course- the only formal craft training we received! After working in Boston for two years to save money for a move to Maine, we settled in Franklin in 1971, where we live on a salt marsh at the head of Frenchman’s Bay.
Stubbornness and perseverance will take you a long way, and it enabled us to raise two sons, overcome our lack of formal craft training, and successfully make a living with our pottery and weaving. We love our work and look forward to working productively for many more years.
