16' Explorer Canoe

length -16' beam - 34" weight - 55 lbs. center depth - 12.5" height at ends - 24"

This 16 footer is a good choice for those who want a single canoe with fine all-around ability. Similar in profile to the 18.5 footer, it compensates for its shorter length with a flatter cross-section, and by carrying its fullness farther into the ends. Designed as either a tandem or solo canoe, it is at home in whitewater or flatwater, but is not as good for poling as the larger canoe.
